Advocates also criticized Montgomery for failing to prosecute officers involved in police shootings. During his tenure, Montgomery's office has only charged and prosecuted one officer. Supervisor Steve Gallardo, the only Democrat on the board, told the speakers that he was sympathetic to their concerns and promised to listen to them as the board made its decision.
